LOS RASTRILLOS are a nine-member Mexican reggae band celebrating the milestone of their 25th anniversary of their formation in 1989. Their unique sound fuses reggae with Afro-Mexican rhythms, salsa, ska, and jazz to create their original brand of the popular Jamaican-born genre. Los Rastrillos are no stranger to B.C. as they have developed a strong following here over the years through many appearances at the province's major music festivals including the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Vancouver Island Music Festival and Victoria Ska Fest. Los Rastrillos performed at The Queen's in Nanaimo in 2009 to a sold-out audience and look forward to another packed show this time around!=0D=0A=

PROVIDENCIA is a seven member reggae band from Medellin, Colombia. Formed in 2001, the band started out as one of the country's youngest reggae bands but since has earned its place at the top of the scene, winning the 2009 Subterrania Award for Best Reggae Group. The Nanaimo performance is part of their first visit to Canada. They were scouted to perform throughout the region by Dane Roberts, artistic director of Victoria SkaFest who saw them perform at an arts expo in Colombia last year when he invited them to be part of the 15th annual Victoria Ska Fest.=0D=0A=
