LOCATION:Langham Court Theatre :: 805 Langham Court Victoria, V8V 4J3
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:The story revolves around the mysterious and gruesome murder of the lovely Svetlana. Solving the mystery calls for the forensic skills of two investigators from the Smithsonian, a gullible FBI agent, and a dim-witted Washington, DC cop. Along the way, they run afoul of the Russian mafia, a belligerent lesbian model combat helicopter pilot, and a bogus breast implant surgeon. Confounding their investigation are numerous “red herrings” and (unmentionable) exploding body parts. =0D=0A=

RED HERRING, this year’s winner of the ACTiVATE festival of one act plays, springs from the pen of Bill Adams, a well-known Victoria theatre set designer, actor, and playwright. His previous Fringe creations include LIBERTY, (“… fascinating characters … their compelling stories woven together in a captivating, touching and humorous performance.”) and FOOT AND MOUTH (“…dramatic, newsworthy clout that could make it a Fringe winner.”). RED HERRING, a hilarious “who dun it”, is a striking departure from his previous dramatic themes. =0D=0A=

“Writing RED HERRING was a blast!” said Adams who placed it in the capable hands of Chris Moss, a veteran Victoria director with a wonderful comedic touch. A cast of four well-known local actors, Mitch Barnes, Ian Chaprin, Katya Delancey and Fran Patterson, together play eleven roles, switching characters, costumes, and accents with remarkable dexterity.=0D=0A=
