DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:The theme ‘Rain & Fire’ has been chosen for both geographic and cultural reasons.  Geographically it is a celebration of the reality of living in a coastal rainforest region - in short, rain!  An essential ecological resource, rain is a major influence on the experience of living in this area.  Fire configures into the cultural fabric of all peoples.  Stories told ‘around the fire’ are at the root of all ethnic identities and have thrilled, scared and taught us for millennia.  Fire is also following on the ‘Spirit of the Flame’ festivities of the Olympic Torch Relay in Campbell River.=0D=0A=
The Festival will have lots for you to do: Storytelling and Firespinners in Spirit Square, Photo Show at the Tidemark Theatre, Mother Mother Concert at Tidemark Friday Night, Pancake Breakfast Sunday Morning, and lots more.=0D=0A=
