Rain & Fire Festival of Story

The theme �Rain & Fire� has been chosen for both geographic and cultural reasons. Geographically it is a celebration of the reality of living in a coastal rainforest region - in short, rain! An essential ecological resource, rain is a major influence on the experience of living in this area. Fire configures into the cultural fabric of all peoples. Stories told �around the fire� are at the root of all ethnic identities and have thrilled, scared and taught us for millennia. Fire is also following on the �Spirit of the Flame� festivities of the Olympic Torch Relay in Campbell River.
The Festival will have lots for you to do: Storytelling and Firespinners in Spirit Square, Photo Show at the Tidemark Theatre, Mother Mother Concert at Tidemark Friday Night, Pancake Breakfast Sunday Morning, and lots more.
