The surfing competition is on Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6 from 8 am to 4 pm at North Chestermans Beach or Cox Bay (TBD). Please bike or carpool to the beach. Some food, drinks and merchandise will available to purchase on site.=0D=0A=

The contest was created to showcase and celebrate the amazing female surf talent present here on the west coast. Contest organizers have focused efforts on designing the contest to be ‘female-friendly’ with free child care and dog sitting services for competitors and even has a massage tent that is complimentary for competitors.=0D=0A=

Competitors vie for cash and prizes in both longboard and shortboard categories. New to this years contest is the added division of the “Princess of the Peak” for grommets ages 16 and under sponsored by Billie Girls by Billabong. In addition this year a “Masters” division for women 40 years and up will be added. The masters competition will be a contest where competitors collectively work to catch as many waves as possible and for every successful wave rode a donation will be made to the Keep A Breast Foundation.=0D=0A=

Included in the entry fee for longboard and shortboard contestants is a wine and cheese welcome reception at Surf Sister and an awards gala multi-course dinner at Shelter Restaurant. All proceeds from the event are donated to the Keep a Breast Canada, who’s mission is to help eradicate breast cancer by exposing young people to methods of prevention, early detection and support.
