<p>The Candlelight Tribute Service was started in 1995 in the Netherlands when Dutch children laid lit candles on the graves of Canadian soldiers, leaving them burning overnight in silent tribute to the fallen. Since that time, these tributes have increased in Europe and here in Canada. The candles that we use are made in the Netherlands specifically for this purpose. The subtle glow of these candles, especially when placed in numbers, creates a solemn and unforgettable image for the evening of Remembrance.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>The public is welcome to participate. Candles can be purchased at the Legion for $3.50.</p>=0D=0A=
<p><br /><strong>Remembrance Day Parade and Ceremony</strong></p>=0D=0A=
<p>Date: November 11th</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Time: 11am<br /><strong>Place: Qualicum Beach Civic Centre - 747 Jones Street</strong></p>=0D=0A=
<p>10:15am - Anyone wishing to march in the parade - meet in the parking lot at the corner of Primrose Street and Fern Road.<br />10:30am - Courtesy bus for Veterans not able to march leaves from the Legion to the Civic Centre<br />10:45am - Parade route from corner of Primrose Street along Fern Road to the Civic Centre on Jones Street<br />11:00am - Remembrance Day Ceremony with reserved seating for all veterans. There will be a parade after the service from the Civic Centre to the Legion branch.<br />12:30pm - The public is invited to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #76 Qualicum Beach at 180 Veterans Way for a reception.</p>
