In respect to our treed community at Pioneer Park, come fora forest work party at  (10-3:30). and a sweatlodge in the afternoon (4:30pm-7:30pm) with a potluck dinner to finish (7:30pm). The forest was logged some 50 years ago and wasn't properly managed back into health, so now we are doing the much needed thinning work.  Come at any time for all or part of the day. Please see protocol if you plan on attending the Sweatlodge. FYI- Forest Party= forest restoration work = forest thinning = good exercise = fun and good people.=0D=0A=

10:00- meet at the Pioneer Park Football Announcement Tower for introductions and warm up.=0D=0A=
10:30- 12:30 work near the bottom edge of Football Fields=0D=0A=
12:30-1:00 lunch. Soup and bread provided... or Pizza=0D=0A=
1:00-3:00 Work=0D=0A=
3-3:30 clean up:=0D=0A=
3:30ish head over to sweatlodge =0D=0A=
4:30- Sweatlodge start. =0D=0A=
7:30pm -Potluck=0D=0A=

Forest Work:=0D=0A=
Work will be done with non motorized hand tools=0D=0A=
Please bring if you have a chainsaw for bucking up wood at the end of the day=0D=0A=
Wood thinned out of the forest will be available for volunteers for processed into fence posts, bean poles, fire wood. =0D=0A=

What to bring:=0D=0A=
For Forest Thinning:=0D=0A=
- bring warmgear and rain gear and gloves, water bottle (optional).=0D=0A=
- tools will be provided and you are welcome to bring what you have: machetes, wheelbarrows, shovels, bark removers, japanese hand saws, , chain saws. Please label your tools to prevent mix ups.=0D=0A=

Sweat lodge is a ceremony of prayer, song and gratitude. Come with respect for the waterpourer, the ceremony, for yourself and the others attending. Clarify your intent before coming and bring an offering of tobacco in gratitude for the fire, to strengthen your purpose, and open your connection to your Great Spirit.=0D=0A=

Protocol:=0D=0A=
-Abstain from alcohol or other drugs for 3-5 days prior to entering the lodge.=0D=0A=
-Fast before entering the lodge (optional). or eat lightly during the day prior to.=0D=0A=
-Bring a towel to sit on and to dry off with and something to put your wet clothes into.=0D=0A=
-Women: Please wear a dress or skirt that is past your knees for comfort -or short pants -and a shirt that covers your shoulders.=0D=0A=
-Men: Please wear shorts -shirts optional.=0D=0A=
-Bring a water bottle=0D=0A=
-Women on their "moon" (menses) are in a time of powerful inner connection to Spirit and purification, and traditionally stay at a distance from a sweat lodge ceremony until 2 days after their moon time is completed. If you have questions about this feel free to ask me. =0D=0A=

Gift: Please bring a gift for the lodge pourer: tobacco, sage, other herbs or something you made, something that is special to you... etc. Cash is also a kind consideration.=0D=0A=
