Catherine Lang's book, "Embedded: The Irreconcilable Nature of War, Loss and Consequence", describes the loss of her niece, Michelle Lang, who was killed while working as a journalist "embedded" with Canadian troops near Kandahar City, Afghanistan, in 2009, and Lang's subsequent journey to find meaning in the sacrifice inherent in military service.
=0D=0A=

Keith Ogilvie's book, "Failed to Return: Canada’s Bomber Command Sacrifice in the Second World War", is a "compelling account of sixteen stories of Canadian killed and missing in the line of duty while serving in the Royal Air Force Bomber Command...in the Second World War". The stories are tragic and heroic, serving as both a source of information and a memorial to the lives of those lost.
=0D=0A=
