=0D=0A=People premiered in 2012 at the National Theatre, London. According to The Daily Mail, People was inspired by the ‘sense of unease’ the author, Alan Bennett, felt when he visited one of the National Trust’s stately homes. Bennett later discovered that the National Trust had sponsored an X-rated mobile phone app that focuses on sex and violence in Soho - London's Red Light District.
=0D=0A=Alan Bennett is an English playwright, screenwriter, actor and author. His collaboration as writer and performer with Dudley Moore, Jonathan Miller and Peter Cook in the satirical revue 'Beyond the Fringe' at the Edinburgh Festival was his claim to fame. Bennett's first play, 'Forty Years On', was produced in 1968, followed by numerous plays, films, television serials and pieces for radio earning him numerous awards, including the Laurence Olivier Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Theatre.
