Old Music for the New Year - Noel: Christmas Music from Baroque France
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
A Victoria New Year's staple with baroque period instrumentalists and vocalists. This year's music features seasonal music from baroque France, including organ “Noëls” and a special performance of Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s imaginative and wonderful “Messe du Minuit pour Noël” written in 1694 based on the melodies of ten french Christmas carols.
This annual concert of baroque music for the Christmas season has become a favorite for many Victoria residents and visitors to Victoria. This is a free concert but donations are welcome. Marc Destrubé once again leads the Pacific Baroque Festival Ensemble and four young emerging singers: Isolde Welby (soprano), Olivia Duffin (alto), Tim Carter (tenor), Jordan Rettich (baritone)
