Eva Hillborn Eva is a teacher, an activist and an inspiring woman. She has been grade school teacher since 1943 and been very vocal about encouraging young women to make decisions and to go for higher positions.
=0D=0A=When she arrived in Port Alberni in 1964 there wasn’t one female principal. When she left, there were 4 female principles and one female teacher had gone on to become a superintendent. She has been a member of the CFUW – Canadian Federation of University Women - for 35 years. She organized the first International Women’s Day here at Qualicum/Parksville. Eva is still pushing for positive political change. Empowering the Future with Accessible and Affordable and Available Early Learning and ChildCare for all BC Children.
=0D=0A=Janet Farooq Janet has been involved in government affairs her whole life. During her career she has lived in Ontario, Philidelphia, Pakistan, back to the USA, then to Nigeria, Switzerland, Thailand, and back to Canada for retirement. She has a PhD in Economics and has worked at the World Bank, Yale, the University of Ile-Ife, UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development), and the Economic and Social Commission of Asia and the Pacific.
