Celebrate and learn about our marine environment by spending an active, educational afternoon at Descanso Bay Regional Park on Gabriola Island. This is the ninth annual Oceans Day held in the park featuring an interactive killer whale skeleton, sealife touch tanks, marine information booths, arts & crafts, storytelling and face painting.
=0D=0A=Bring a picnic and enjoy some time at the beach with friends and family. Talk to marine biologists about their work and peer through microscopes at the wonders of sea life.
=0D=0A=Visitors from Nanaimo can take the 11:55 am ferry over to Gabriola Island. Consider leaving your car behind and walk or bike the short 1.5 km to the Park!
