The Nanaimo Youth Choir celebrates 25 years of music making in Nanaimo with a gala concert!
=0D=0A=Join the members of the choir (Junior and Concert choirs) and NYC alumni at the gala concert on Saturday 3 June at St. Andrew’s United Church in Nanaimo.
=0D=0A=The Nanaimo Youth Choir is an auditioned, community choir for youth ages 5 – 19. Founded in 1992 by Marian Smith, the NYC is a division of the Nanaimo Conservatory of Music.
=0D=0A=Since its beginning, the Nanaimo Youth Choir has performed frequently at community and competitive events, and has received numerous local, regional and national awards. The Nanaimo Youth Choir members are ambassadors of Nanaimo’s young people, sharing the simple joy of making music together.
=0D=0A=Marian Smith is a past recipient of the City of Nanaimo Honour in Culture Award for her work and dedication to choral music and to the Nanaimo Youth Choir.
