Wow! Solar is now competitive with BC Hydro rates. Soon it will be cheaper! Increasing numbers of people want to take charge of their electricity and tell the provincial and federal governments to subsidize clean energy, not fossil fuels. At our forum we will hear how the communities of Gabriola Island and the Cowichan Valley are embracing solar energy.
=0D=0A=Representatives of these movements will be at this free event, explaining how they are doing it. We, as a community, can then decide how we want to make this happen here.
=0D=0A=The event is being sponsored by the City of Nanaimo and the non-profit Energy Solutions for Vancouver Island, and supported by the Regional District of Nanaimo. Did you know that renewable energy creates more (local) jobs and improved economic opportunities, cleaner air, plus is expanding faster than are the fossil fuel industries (despite lavish public subsidies to the latter)?
