Tickets are now available for the performance of Made in Nanaimo: Celebrating Song and Partnership
=0D=0A=. Nanaimo Sings!,an umbrella choral organization for local community choirs, will bring together 200 Nanaimo area singers representing 17 choirs. They have recently collaborated with Nanaimo composers, arrangers, choir directors and instrumentalists to present the Made in Nanaimo production!
=0D=0A=After two years of pandemic darkness, Nanaimo Sings! choirs are thrilled to perform together again. Through a search in early 2022, seven original songs composed by Nanaimo singer/songwriters were selected and four talented Nanaimo-based musicians were commissioned by Nanaimo Sings! to write choral arrangements of those songs. This unique rich and diverse music landscape also features guest conductor Willi Zwozdesky, Artistic Director of the Vancouver Men’s Chorus and Executive Director of the British Columbia Choral Federation. “We have been privileged to benefit from his expert experience and mentorship”, states Linda Dier, Chair of Nanaimo Sings!
=0D=0A=Also joining the production are Nico Rhodes, instrumental director along with special guest appearances by vocalist Joëlle Rabu, composer Buwa and the Nanaimo youth fiddle ensemble Fiddelium.
