DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:<p>Families can enjoy two week of activities at the Nanaimo Museum during spring break.&nbsp; Popular heritage drop-in programs, self-guided tours and the new Night at the Museum event will help keep kids busy.&nbsp; The activities are designed for children ages 5-12 years to participate in, along with their parents, grandparents or caregivers.&nbsp; Admission is by donation to the Nanaimo Museum.<br /><br />&ldquo;<em>We&rsquo;ve expanded our spring break schedule to coincide with School District 68&rsquo;s two week long holiday</em>,&rdquo; says Aimee Greenaway, Interpretation Curator.&nbsp; &ldquo;<em>We&rsquo;ve added new programs to our popular annual heritage drop-in programs to allow more flexibility for families.</em>&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>=0D=0A=
<p>One of the new programs is Night at the Museum on Tuesdays, March 15 and 22 from 5:30-7:00.&nbsp; &ldquo;<em>We are hosting two evening events so that parents who are at work during the day have an opportunity to participate in spring break activities with their children.</em>"&nbsp; Night at the Museum includes lantern tours through the coal mine in the dark and other hands-on activities.&nbsp; There are also self-guided Family Discovery tours on Monday, March 14, Friday, March 18 and Monday March 21.&nbsp; These tours are from 10am-4pm.<br /><br />The popular drop-in heritage programs are from 1pm-4pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays.&nbsp; The hands-on activities are designed for children in elementary school but each day will have one activity suitable for preschool aged children.&nbsp; Each afternoon has a different theme with related activities:&nbsp; Wednesday, March 16th is Chinatown, Wednesday, March 17 is Coal Miner, Wednesday, March 23 is Space and Thursday, March 24 is Vikings.<br /><br />All activities are available on a drop-in basis.&nbsp; Allow at least one hour for children to complete activities.&nbsp; Caregivers must be present at all times during the programs and museum visits.&nbsp; There is no pre-registration.&nbsp;</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Admission is by donation, which includes the day&rsquo;s spring break activities and museum visit.</p>=0D=0A=

<p>The Nanaimo Museum is open Monday-Saturday from 10-5 and closed on Good Friday, March 25.</p>
