<p style="text-align: left;">Richie will discuss the findings from his 2002 excavations at the site of the Ode Brothers&nbsp;shipyard (Nanaimo Shipyards Ltd., 1918)&nbsp;and herring saltery at Newcastle Island's Saltery Beach.</p>=0D=0A=
<p style="text-align: left;">By way of images and artefacts Richie will interpret the lives and times of the Japanese Canadian business people, shipwrights, and fishermen, from the turn of the 20th century to the end of the Second World War.</p>=0D=0A=
