Nanaimo Family History Society (NFHS) is holding its monthly informative meeting and presentation. Upcoming is presenter Claire Smith-Burns of Kelowna (BC) lecturing on "The Lucky Dip: Serendipity & Genealogy."

However, these “lucky” finds more often happen to observant family historians who are following a solid research plan and examining every clue! Your ancestors may have been “ordinary” people but research can reveal information you never expected! A lesson on good research habits and following all clues.
=0D=0A=An interesting speaker, Claire is happy to be back speaking with our group. She has family ties to Nanaimo going back to her great-great-Grandfather, Charles Wentworth Wallace (Wentworth & Wallace Streets were named after him). Smith-Burns first got hooked on genealogy when she was in her teens and it has been a passion ever since. Presently, Claire is Director and Chairperson of the Library and Education committees for the Kelowna & District Genealogical Society .
