His major theatre credits includes the role of Jean Valijean in &ldquo;Les Miserables&rdquo; at Toronto&rsquo;s Royal Alexandra Theatre (Dora Award Nomination), The Concert at Skydome and the first national Canadian tour and the Tenth Anniversary Concert at Royal Albert Hall, London, England.&nbsp; Other major performances include &ldquo;Man of la Mancha&rdquo;, &ldquo;Blood Brothers and numerous starring roles throughout Canada and the United States. Besides appearing off Broadway, Michael has appeared with the Stratford Festival, The National Arts Centre, Charlottetown Festival and&nbsp; Citadel Theatre to name just a few.<br /><br />He has starred in&nbsp; the feature film Entry in a Diary, which won the Roberto Rosselini Award at the 43rd Film Festival in Salerno, Italy,&nbsp; The Original Sin which qualified for the 1999 Academy Awards as well as his own Gemini Award Winning CBC-TV Special Michael Burgess at Massey Hall.<br /><br />He has thrilled many sports fans around the world performing the national anthems at monumental sporting events, including World Series, Canada Cups, NHL All &ndash;Star Games, Spengler and Memorial Cups. He has sung at the World Basketball Championships, The Grey Cup, Queen&rsquo;s Plate, The Molson Indy and the World Figure Skating Championship. In addition, Michael appeared at Maple Leaf Gardens joining forces with champion figure skater Kurt Browning in an unforgettable performance of &ldquo;Bring Him Home&rdquo;.<br /><br />Michael Burgess believes strongly in giving back and donates his talents to many charitable organizations across Canada. He has been honored to receive the Queen&rsquo;s Golden Jubilee and Diamond Jubilee Medal, the Distinguished Canadian Leadership Award, inducted into&nbsp; the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame and most recently, the Order of Ontario.<br /><br />An evening to remember!</p>=0D=0A=
