<p>Charityworks will be hosting a grant writing workshop at Burnside Gorge Community Association. This event will be free for anyone and everyone and will focus on all grants (not simply Gaming Grants). This will give you the skills and strategies to write better applications year-round :)</p>=0D=0A=
<p>This session, facilitated by Lisa Mort-Putland, Executive Director of Volunteer Victoria, focuses on grant writing basics. This session will be helpful if you are new to fundraising, or need a refresher as you build your own grant requests. Lisa will review different types of grants and granting trends, before helping participants better understand the tools that help grant writers plan for and prepare grants, including looking at budgets and logic models.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Participants will have an opportunity to:</p>=0D=0A=
<p>- gain key insights for guiding future grant proposals</p>=0D=0A=
<p>- develop a greater understanding of funder perspectives in Greater Victoria</p>=0D=0A=
<p>- network with your professional associates working in community</p>=0D=0A=
<p>More about Lisa:</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Lisa joined the Volunteer Victoria team as Executive Director in June 2011. Lisa holds a B.A. in Drama and a Masters in Public Administration with a focus on non-profit management. Prior to working with Volunteer Victoria Lisa was the Development Manager for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Victoria and spent more than 25 years working and volunteering in the museum and heritage sector. Lisa provides governance assistance to organizations and is often asked to speak at conferences, events, and celebrations.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>This event is FREE and open to anyone who is involved with a charity or non-profit organization. You do not need to be a Charityworks member to attend.</p>=0D=0A=
