Does your board have difficulty arriving at a decision? Do you debate endlessly and then defer decision to a later meeting? Is there lack of clarity on who has the final say? Decision-making can difficult for many reasons, and how decisions are made can reveal a lot about how an organization performs. Poor decision-making processes can often result in wasted time, confusion, and frustration. Individually, everyone’s intentions are good, yet the whole performs poorly. And in the worst case, decision-making problems create a climate of mistrust and undermine an organization’s mission.
=0D=0A=This session is all about learning to diagnose the source of a decision-making problem and identify ways to improve board effectiveness. Participants will work with concrete things such as effective agendas, minutes, and decision making criteria as well as the soft skills that address how to facilitate discussions, reach consensus, awareness of the impact of values.
