MAKING A STATEMENT: A workshop for writing artists' statements

=0D=0A=Artists often need to produce a statement about their work for a show, for their website, or when applying for a grant. This workshop explores how you can go beyond the obscurity of “artspeak” to present an open, honest statement of your current work or the work you intend to do in the future.
=0D=0A=Facilitator Naomi Beth Wakan is a personal essayist, the Inaugural Poet Laureate of Nanaimo and the Inaugural Honorary Ambassador for the Federation of BC Writers. She has written over fifty books including “On the Arts,” a series of essays on various aspects of creativity based on pieces written for the American Art magazine, Still Point Arts Quarterly.
