<p>Saturday, October 21 Workshop and Tour, 2 - 4 pm Registration required $25 Members | $27 non-Members Workshop Requirements: writing material and a small piece of your artwork Included will be a tour of Jin-me Yoon&rsquo;s solo show at the Nanaimo Art Gallery guided by Yvonne Vander Kooi (Art Education Coordinator).</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Artists often need to produce a statement about their work for a show, for their website, or when applying for a grant. This workshop explores how you can go beyond the obscurity of &ldquo;artspeak&rdquo; to present an open, honest statement of your current work or the work you intend to do in the future.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Facilitator Naomi Beth Wakan is a personal essayist, the Inaugural Poet Laureate of Nanaimo and the Inaugural Honorary Ambassador for the Federation of BC Writers. She has written over fifty books including &ldquo;On the Arts,&rdquo; a series of essays on various aspects of creativity based on pieces written for the American Art magazine, Still Point Arts Quarterly.</p>
