<p>Have you ever thought of making your own Kombucha at home, but thought: &ldquo;it&rsquo;s to hard&rdquo; &ldquo;I don&rsquo;t know where to start&rdquo; &ldquo;What if it goes horribly wrong" &ldquo;What is a SCOBY &ndash; and where on earth do I get one&rdquo;?? "Will I save Money making it at home?" Whether you are NEW to making Kombucha or a Seasoned Brewer this class is a great way to learn more about Fermented drinks.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Our goal is to help you answer all of your questions &amp; teach you how to make Kombucha at home with confidence. The class is an interactive course with a mixture of talking about the background of kombucha (what is it, where is it from, why drink it, is it safe to make your own, is it good for me?), how to make it, how to ph test. The main goal is to teach you how to make a safe drink at home following Food Safety set out by VIHA &amp; BC/CFIA standards.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>There will be a demonstration of each step (first fermentation, bottling with flavours for a second fermentation, and a tasting booth will also be set up. We wil have a variety of Premium Heirloom Vintage Scoby that Originated 1963. Types of SCOBYS: Hibiscus, Tibetan JUN, White Tea, Black Tea What is Kombucha? Kombucha is a living drink made from fermenting tea.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>The basic ingredients are tea, sugar &amp; a Scoby. In the right conditions the Scoby works with the sugar &amp; tea to make a slightly sparkling drink that tastes delicious! This class is based more on the food safety side. We do not promote people healing from drinking Kombucha. What we do is educate the public about how to make a safe drink at home, &amp; how much to consume based on Health Canada Studies.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Studies (scientific) show that if you drink 4oz per day it can: .Promotes healthy bacteria in the gut . Rebalances homeostasis in the body . Supports healthy liver function .Boosts metabolism . Improves digestion &amp; bowel function .Rebuilds connective tissue .Boosts energy .Reduces blood pressure .Reduces kidney stones .Destroys free radical cells that are known to cause cell damage .Aid in healthy cell regeneration .Improve eyesight .Heal ulcers .Helps to clear up candidiasis .Can lower glucose levels</p>=0D=0A=
