Just before WW1 the BC government commissioned four explorations to map the northern part of BC.  These surveys provided the first detailed information about the geography, people, and economic potential of the most remote part of British Columbia. Jay Sherwood is a retired teacher-librarian who is the author and editor of five books with the Royal BC Museum Press. Surveying Central British Columbia won 2nd prize in the 2007 BCHistorical Federation book competition and Furrows in the Sky received a 2012 Honourable Mention.
