=0D=0A=Renowned Canadian performing songwriter Lennie Gallant will take the stage at Simonholt, Nanaimo on Saturday (March 12) at 8:30 p.m.. Gallant is touring in support of his two most recent recordings, Live Acoustic at The Carleton - which earned him the 2014 Canadian Folk Music Award for Artist of the Year, and his brand new release, Searching For Abegweit, a double album featuring the 22 songs from his hit musical theatre production Searching For Abegweit – The Island Songs & Stories of Lennie Gallant. A recipient of the Order of Canada for his contributions to Canadian music culture, Lennie Gallant’s body of work includes eleven albums (nine in English and two in French) for which he has garnered a host of awards and nominations from the Junos, the East Coast Music Awards and Prix Eloizes. Over 30 artists have recorded Gallant’s songs, including Measha Brueggergosman, Ode de L’Acadie, The Rankins, and Jimmy Buffet, and his songs have appeared in feature films, television series, and numerous theatrical productions.
