=0D=0A=Leaf Rapids is the latest project by singer songwriter Keri Latimer. In the past you might have heard her deceivingly sweet voice in the band Nathan (2008 Juno Award recipients) singing disconcertingly dark lyrics alongside her handsome bass playing husband Devin Latimer. These days, if she isn’t crooning about the northern lights in front of a microphone, she’s waving her arms around in the air like a sorceress, conjuring melodies from a Theremin.
=0D=0A=If you told a younger Keri that she would someday become a regularly featured Theremin soloist with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra on an electronic instrument that you don’t even touch to play, she wouldn’t have believed it. But the first time she heard it’s ethereal voice, she fell madly in love with it.

Theremin, soothing vocals and a perfectly performed bass part made for a spellbinding, sublime performance.” - Liverpool Soundcity Festival 2015 Within this soundscape Keri weaves in delightful stories of vultures circling above, love in smallpox quarantines, and great grandmothers stabbing lumberjacks in the thigh with scissors after being groped while chopping their hair.
=0D=0A=Leaf Rapids is diligently polishing up the next set of tunes to be released in the Fall of 2018. This follows not so closely on the heels of their debut album, “Lucky Stars” which was produced by Steve Dawson and released on the Black Hen Music Label based in Nashville, TN in 2015. But good songs take time.
