Inspired by a play written and produced a dozen years ago by actor and playwright Alexandre Goyette (Masque awards for best original play and best actor, 2005), the film is as hard-hitting as they come. For 91 minutes, we follow David as he makes bad decisions and falls into a series of disturbingly violent events. This is a blunt depiction of the world of street gangs, and of the tense alliances in which the protagonist finds himself unwillingly bound. Making a cinematic adaptation of the play presented considerable technical challenges, and this evening you will see the fifth take -- the film is a single shot, an approach that demanded exceptional dedication from the entire crew in order to realize the shared vision of director Podz and writer/actor Alexandre Goyette. Durant 91 minutes, on suit l'histoire de David qui avec ses mauvais choix, tombe dans une série d’événements d’une violence frontale. La dureté à l’écran illustre bien ce monde de gangs de rues et d’alliances intéressées dans le lequel le personnage plonge durement. Le pari d’adapter la pièce au grand écran a représenté un beau défi technologique et ce que vous découvrirez ce soir est le résultat de la 5e prise. Car le film est un plan séquence qui a nécessité le dévouement de toute l’équipe pour arriver à la vision qu’ont eu en tête le réalisateur Podz et le comédien et scénariste Alexandre Goyette.
