Ms. Wedman will lead eight musicians from Victoria Baroque in a Remembrance Day journey of exquisite, imaginative, and unique Baroque works, taking listeners through riveting musical depictions of soldiers on the battlefield, dance-driven and hauntingly beautiful instrumental suites, and a mesmerizing and thought-provoking work, &ldquo;White Man&rsquo;s Cattle&rdquo; by Indigenous composer, Cris Derksen. The music in the programme spans over 350 years and includes music from European centres of Paris, London, Salzburg, and Berlin, to Albertan prairies, representing a variety of voices.</p>=0D=0A=

<p>Violinist Julia Wedman (juliawedman.com) grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. After studies at UWO, Indiana University, and the University of Toronto, she joined the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra in 2005 and quickly developed a reputation for her solo performances with the group. In addition to being featured regularly on the group&rsquo;s home series in Toronto, Julia has performed solos on tours in Canada, the US, Germany, France, Mexico, Puerto Rico, China, Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. She is a member of I FURIOSI and the Eybler String Quartet, whose discography includes music of Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven, as well as rarely heard gems by Franz Aspylmayr and Vanhal.</p>=0D=0A=
