=0D=0A=The Newcombe Singers will be looking for sopranos, altos, and especially tenors and basses to join the fun in the new spring session, starting January 3, 2017. Sight-reading is a bonus, not a requirement. There are no auditions, but support and encouragement for your musical growth abounds. The Newcombe Singers is Victoria’s oldest community choir singing in four-part harmony. With the guidance of esteemed conductor Peter Dent, the choir performs a wide variety of songs from beautiful classical masterpieces to great modern and jazz standards.
=0D=0A=Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings, 7:15 – 9:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 1701 Elgin Road in Oak Bay. Rehearsals for the 2017 spring session begin on January 3, when the choir begins work on an all-Canadian programme for their spring concert, marking the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation. If you love to sing, come and check us out. We love our “Newcombers”. Plan to arrive at 7 pm to register and receive music. All voices are welcome. You may join us for the first three rehearsals in January before making a commitment.
