DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Joanne Gauthier presents a new collection of bold and bright paintings. Each canvas, a riot of colour and texture, alludes to a three-dimensional quality. To achieve this Joanne coats her canvas with an acrylic paste and carves in relief, she then paints over with brilliant coloured oils, raw or diluted but never mixed with white, retaining their saturated colour. The paintings are then finished with silver or gold leaf which adds a richness and the finishing touch to these works of art. Elaborate florals, Tiffany inspired vases and arabesque design combine to lend a contemporary feel to her paintings, the result is a visual symphony of colour and balanced composition.
