Council is a compelling process of cultivating empathic listening and heartfelt communication. Practiced around the world in communities, organizations and educational settings (including more the 50 public and private Southern California schools), Council helps to nurture authentic communication, non-judgmental listening and a direct, honest and compassionate speaking style.=0D=0A=

Council is a practice of sharing the wisdom of one’s own experience and helps create mutual understanding, build community and support the unfolding of a collective vision. This weekend offers an introduction to and grounding in the practice of Council, guided by an experienced trainer from The Ojai Foundation.=0D=0A=

Council is practice of speaking and listening from the heart. Through compassionate, heratfelt expression and empathic, non-judgmental listening, Council inspires a non-hierarchical form of deep communication that reveals a group’s visions and purpose.=0D=0A=

Council offers effective means of working with conflict and discovering the deeper, often unexpressed needs of individuals and organizations. Council, in its various forms, provides comprehensive and powerful practices for co-visioning. learning, healing, community building and making decisions in a group context. Council explores both our personal and our collective story.=0D=0A=

Lori Austein is a certified trainer and facilitator of the Council process and a certified hypnotherapist, as well as an educator, lawyer and mediator.=0D=0A=
=0D=0A=
She completed the full trainer’s path for Credentialed Council Trainers at the Ojai Foundation in California and spent five years at an urban middle school in Los Angeles helping to bring weekly Councils to over 2,000 students.  Since 2002, she has facilitated numerous Councils in various settings throughout the Western United States and Canada and trained many others to do the same.=0D=0A=

In 2010, Lori received certification as a hypnotherapist through the Wellness Institute in Issaquah, Washington, and continues to pursue advanced training in clinical psychotherapeutic hypnosis.=0D=0A=
=0D=0A=
Lori lives in Cobble Hill, British Columbia, on Vancouver Island, with her husband, son and Bob the Dog.=0D=0A=
