<p>Today, there is no more prominent symbol of the West Coast than the orca. Yet just a few decades ago, killer whales were reviled and shot throughout the region.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Join historian Jason Colby for a provocative exploration of our transformed relationship with the ocean&rsquo;s apex predator. Colby will incorporate material from interviews, archives, and personal explorations along the Pacific Coast, and he will reveal Victoria&rsquo;s very special role in humanities changing view of orcas.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Jason M. Colby is an associate professor of environmental and international history at the University of Victoria and author of Orca: How We Came to Know and Love the Ocean&rsquo;s Greatest Predator (Oxford, 2018).</p>=0D=0A=
