On Wednesday February 21, 2018, the City of Nanaimo will host a Heritage Summit at the Nanaimo Museum from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The purpose of the summit is to heighten heritage awareness in the community during Provincial Heritage Week (February 19-25), as well as to network with other local organizations interested in heritage issues.
=0D=0A=Similar in format to past Summits, the event will be separated into two parts. The first part will feature a presentation by Christine Meutzner (Nanaimo Community Archivist) on a little known story of Nanaimo’s past, entitled “Time Travel: The Story of Big Frank.” In addition, Aimee Greenaway (Nanaimo Museum Curator) will provide a short presentation on the Museum’s latest featured exhibit “Extension BC – Divided in Solidarity.” The remainder of the evening will be devoted to a roundtable discussion between culture and heritage organizations in attendance.
