On eight Friday evenings, beginning March 16, downtown Nanaimo’s SHAW Auditorium will reverberate with Live Jazz.
=0D=0A=The new Have You Heard? series will showcase eight of Vancouver Island’s best professional Jazz Ensembles, who the audience will also be able to meet after the concert.
=0D=0A=This new series is presented by the Nanaimo International Jazz Festival Association [NIJFA] whose president Andrew Homzy, says “Thanks to our members, donors and supporters, we are able to move closer to our goal of creating a home for jazz in Nanaimo and helping to raise the cultural profile of our city.”
=0D=0A=The intimate 200-seat auditorium in the Vancouver Island Conference Centre (161 Commercial Street) features bar service, indoor parking and elevator access to the elegant auditorium and lobby.
=0D=0A=The March - June series leads up to Nanaimo’s second annual Three-Day Jazz Festival, also downtown, on September 21-23.
