The Victoria HarbourCats are the most successful team in the West Coast League at the gate and always field an exciting team which often tops the league’s regular season standings. This season will be no different. With coronavirus protocols being reduced by provincial authorities, fans are lining up to take live events around the city.
=0D=0A=The Ball-der-Dash Mile will be a fun race, but will be on an accurate four-lap course around the diamond and outfield fence. It will measure 1609m. The Victoria HarbourCats of the West Coast League and Athletics Illustrated are hosting a one-mile race at the team’s home park, the Wilson Group Stadium at Royal Athletic Park. The race will happen Saturday, June 18, the day before Father’s Day. Proceeds from the event will go to prostate cancer.
=0D=0A=After the race, registrants for the Ball-der-Dash Mile are invited at no extra charge to attend that day’s game. Game ticket value is $20.
=0D=0A=Frontrunners Footwear is offering a prize package for the fastest mile by male and female competitors. There will be draw prizes supplied by the HarbourCats and medals will go three deep male and female overall.
=0D=0A=In the event of many registrations, heats will be arranged based on predicted finish time. All abilities are welcome.
