Race Format: Approximately 500 metre races in an Open format. Performance in 1st race determines seeding into Semi Finals & Finals. Each team will be guaranteed two to three races (weather permitting). Full race format details will be provided at a later date.=0D=0A=

*We recommend that you have at least 6 practice sessions and a competent=0D=0A=
steersperson in order to safely compete in the festival.=0D=0A=
*MIXED CATEGORY: There must be a minimum of eight women paddlers in the=0D=0A=
boat at all times.=0D=0A=
*WOMEN'S CATEGORY: Minimum of 15 registered teams required to run category.=0D=0A=
If insufficient registration, women�s crews will race in the mixed category.=0D=0A=
LOCAL PRACTICES AND TRAINING INFORMATION=0D=0A=
Train for the Gorge Fest! All local teams in the Greater Victoria area wishing to enter a team in the Festival must participate in a Dragon Boat Program. The Gorge Rowing & Paddling Centre (a GO Centre) is the official local training centre for the event and offers a wide variety of program options for all ages and abilities. GRPC also features the Millennium Dragon Boats, which are used exclusively in the Vancouver Island Dragon Boat Championships.=0D=0A=
