The For Love of Family event will be held at the Kiwanis Pavilion, a 122-bed complex care facility in Victoria; from 2-4pm. It features a panel of experts offering information on medical, emotional and financial topics related to caring for family members in complex care. The event is free for families of Pavilion residents and $10 for members of the community who are welcome to attend.
For Love of Family will give people a greater understanding of wait-list systems for finding beds for complex care patients, coping mechanisms for dealing with family members with dementia and the costs involved in going through the process of supporting a parent or spouse no longer able to take care of themselves.
