This collaborative workshop will cater to writers of all ages and stages. Participants are encouraged to have a story workshopped by the group, but it is not essential. Those who choose to share a story will need to e-mail the story to dhanebury@hotmail.com by September 1, 2014, so that the story can be distributed ahead of time to all participants. Everyone will be expected to read all of the stories prior to the workshop and come eager to share concise praise and suggestions for improvement. The goal is that writers will leave aware of what is already working well in their stories and excited to get to work on those parts of their stories that need improvement.=0D=0A=
Instruction will be based on various aspects of the participants’ work with regard to the essentials of plot, character, conflict etc. but will also broaden out to examine subtler aspects of tone, atmosphere, and subtext. If time permits, we will also explore the use of archetypes and apply them to a brief writing exercise, so please bring something to write with and on.=0D=0A=
Workshop space will be limited to 16 participants to ensure that everyone’s work receives sufficient attention.=0D=0A=
