Are you interested in parrots? They do have a magical impact on your life? F.E.A.T.H.E.R.S .is an active and dynamic group of people who are dedicated to the premise that better education of people will lead to the proper care and improved welfare for parrots. This group of fellow parrot owners and their parrots live all over Vancouver Island and the Mainland. F.E.A.T.H.E.R.S. was founded as an educational resource and support group for people with parrots as members of their families and for those wishing to adopt or surrender a parrot. Our focus is on teaching the importance of proper diet, enrichmentment, husbandry, health and behaviour management techniques. As their guardians, we need to learn that along with being beautiful and intelligent, most parrots are often noisy, messy, with specific housing and dietary requirements. They have a need for proper mental stimulation and frequent interaction with their owners. Parrots lacking those necessary requirements often develop behavioral problems that can lead to biting, difficult handling, screaming, and even acts of self-mutilation which can lead to disability and even death. F.E.A.T.H.E.R.S. is an organization dedicated to the premise that better education of people will lead to the proper care and improved welfare of parrots.
