	At the May 17 auction and sock hop benefit for the St. John the Divine food bank, place your bid for a tour of the Legislature and lunch at the Legislative Dining Room with newly-minted NDP Leader John Horgan; a walk through Emily Carr's James Bay neighborhood with Victoria Councilor Pam Madoff; or signed birthday and Christmas greetings and an official White House family photo from Richard Nixon, who resigned in 1974 over the Watergate scandal rather than face impeachment.=0D=0A=
	Besides the auction, the main attraction at the "Divine" sock hop is dancing--or for non-dancers, listening--to the high-energy music of Rukus, Victoria's hottest retro rock 'n roll band.=0D=0A=
	Most of the 70-plus auction items at the fifth annual event are more traditional, and some are unique: a signed and framed limited edition print of a yellow warbler by Robert Bateman; dining at Vic's Steakhouse and other restaurants around town; tickets to a Victoria Harbourcats baseball game, a Victoria Royals hockey game, the IMAX Theatre, the Shakespeare by the Sea festival.=0D=0A=
