The Alevis of Turkey are a Muslim minority who hold a religious ceremony known as the cem in an architectural setting known as the cemevi. Aspects of their ceremony are connected to the story of the miraj, the Prophet Muhammad’s Ascension to Heaven. This presentation explores the miraj narrative, its importance to Alevis and the possible reflections of the story in the arrangement and use of Alevi spaces. =0D=0A=
