Art journaling is about creative self-expression through words and imagery. I describe art journaling as yoga or running for my soul. It is my practice in mindfulness and creativity that enriches my day to day life. In this class you will learn techniques for developing beautiful pages on which you can write, draw or collage.
=0D=0A=This session will feature instruction on watermedia techniques – watercolours, aquarelle crayons, watercolour pencils – followed by a journaling prompt and studio time to freely explore this prompt (or your own ideas). You will also learn how to continue your art journaling practice at home. Spend time doing something just for you.
=0D=0A=Supply List Journal: Choose a journal with blank pages of medium-heavy weight. We will use a variety of wet & dry media so the journal needs to support this. I recommend Strathmore or Canson mixed media sketchbooks approximately 9 x 12″ or 8 x 10″. You can preorder my favourite sketchbook on my website shop by APRIL 11th, purchase your own or bring one you already have. Optional: a variety of watercolour paints are included in the class but if you have a specific colours you would like to use (even the children’s kind!), you are welcome to bring them.
