The Cowichan Green Community’s (CGC) plans to host another unconventional Annual General Meeting. Featuring a presentation by Sebastien Martin of Folki Herbs and Wedderspoon Organics and a local foods community potluck, our hope is that this event provides the community with an opportunity to network, to share a meal, and to learn more about CGC and the role of the local food economy.
=0D=0A=Doors open at 4:30pm and the event will kick-start at 5pm with Transition Cowichan’s 5th annual local foods potluck. Attendees are encouraged to bring a local dish to share that reflects the bounty of the spring harvest.
=0D=0A=The potluck will be followed by a presentation from Sebastien Martin, a recent Black Tie Award Winner, who will speak to his experience in co-founding and directing local food and farm enterprises in the Cowichan Region. The evening will conclude with the AGM’s formal procedures: an opportunity to review the work and financial management of the past year, to elect board members for the coming year, and to renew or purchase a membership to CGC.
=0D=0A=At this time, we will also announce the winners of CGC’s 2016 Green Superhero Awards and 2016 Board of the Year Award. Both awards aim to recognize and honour community members and groups who demonstrate leadership within the Cowichan Region’s green sector. As CGC prepares for this event, it is recruiting new board members.
