DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:<p>Started on January 1, 2002 as a Dare, three of Cowichan Bay's Fire Fighters jumped of the dock and into the Icy Waters of the Pacific Ocean in Cowichan Bay.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Since then, it has grown in popularity, grown in attendance, attracted sponsors and community support and has become the "Official Polar Bear Swim" of Cowichan Bay. Each year a few dozen brave souls take the plunge and a few dozen more are there to watch.<br /> <br />Cowichan Bay Fire Rescue takes a lead role in event coordination, publicity and provides warm drinks and safety and PRIZES to those who take to annual run down the ramp!<br /> <br />If you are adventourous, or just plain crazy enough, come on down and join our swim! Each year on January 1st the croud starts to gather and register around 10:30am in a wide variety of "Swim Wear" and lines up for the almighty dip at 11:00am sharp!</p>
