=0D=0A=Brilliance in their Darkest Hour—Incredible Innovations that Might Save the World’s Most Threatened Ecosystem, Coral Reefs Daisy Buzzoni will present an overview of the threats to the future of tropical coral reefs as we know them, and how our lives are affected by corals in perhaps some unexpected ways. Due to the urgency of the situation, scientists all over the world are trialing a wide assortment of innovative techniques to extend the life expectancy of the world’s coral reefs. From making clouds with jet engines to cryopreserving sperm: we’ll explore some of these exciting advances. Daisy Buzzoni is a PhD candidate in Dr. Julia Baum’s lab at Uvic.
