The event jointly celebrates the Scottish poet Robert Burns' 255th birthday and the Chinese Year 4711, also known as "Year of the Horse".=0D=0A=

Swan, who immigrated to Canada from China before meeting and marrying Scottish-Canadian Lloyd MacIlquham, loves the idea of educating the public, celebrating her culture and helping the community at a humourous and fun family occasion.=0D=0A=

"Our two sons look forward to this event every year", she says. Swan draws talent from her many friends in the Chinese community of Nanaimo.=0D=0A=

Lloyd will act as Master of Ceremonies again, bringing his own eclectic brand of humour, celebrating "Hogmany, Chinese style".=0D=0A=

The colourful celebration will encompass classical Chinese entertainment and traditional Scottish dance and music. The dinner buffet will include their unique Chinese/Scottish fusion favourites, such as 'Haggis Wonton' as well as 'Neeps & Tatties Spring Rolls'.=0D=0A=

The event is family friendly and open to the public.=0D=0A=

Tickets are $20 per person and $10 for children between the ages of 6 - 10. Full table reservations are available for groups of 8 or more.=0D=0A=
