“People should be aware the Bite Me derby coincides with peak migration with the most abundance of Chinook stock in the province,” said Martin Paish, member of Bite Me derby and manager of Pedder Bay RV Resort and Marina. The superb fishing conditions have helped the two-day event grow to a participation roster of approximately 350 anglers each year. Since its inception in 1994, the derby has raised more than $118,000.=0D=0A=

Members of the Metchosin Volunteer Fire Department will be on hand from noon until 3:00 p.m. for a firetruck demonstration using water targets. Attendees can also enjoy fire engine rides and ATV demonstrations. All net proceeds to benefit salmon projects across the province.=0D=0A=
