Salt Spring baroque is pleased to present Chantons, compagnons! (Let's sing, companions!), featuring Canadian soprano Erin Bardua, Elyssa Lefurgey-Smith (violin), Martin Bonham (cello), and Doug Hensley (theorbo). This is an exciting program of 17th century English songs, French songs, and works by women baroque composers including the sacred cantata Judith by Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre. There might even be a chance for you to sing along!
=0D=0A=Soprano Erin Bardua is a frequent soloist, voice teacher, and stage director based in Atlantic Canada. She teaches voice for classical, musical theatre, choral and solo singers, as well as many other types of voice users, and is a Certified Trans Voice Alteration teacher. Bardua is a co-founder of Essential Opera and has sung with Vancouver Opera, Pacific Opera Victoria, the Talisker Players, Nota Bene Baroque Players, Pax Christi Chorale, the Toronto Sinfonietta, the Oshawa-Durham Chorus, the Arcady Baroque Ensemble, Capella Intima, London Pro Musica, the Menno Singers, and the Halifax Summer Opera Festival, among others. Erin’s operatic roles include Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), the Countess (Le nozze di Figaro) and Donna Anna (Don Giovanni); and title roles in Alcina (Handel) and Paride ed Elena (Gluck).
