Christmas is quickly approaching and this year the ladies of Encore!, under the direction of their conductor, Christine Dandy with accompanist, Rykie Avenant, will celebrate the joy of the season with a presentation of Christmas choral music exploring seasonal sentiments ranging fromt he devotional to the satirical. There will also be contemporary carols, folk carols and "rockin" carols!
=0D=0A=As always the program includes something for all musical tastes including lots of audience participation. On the devotional side, organist Trish Dandy will accompany the choir for the beautiful "Inclina Domine" by Josef Rheinberger. Also featured will be the soulful and reflective "Mary Did you Know?" by Mac Huff. A contemporary and spirited version of the "Gloria" by Ola Gjeilo will be accompanied by piano duo, Rykie Avenant and Ruth Williams. Favourite carols by English composer and arranger, John Rutter will be presented and as always, the ladies will show off their light hearted side with a few seasonal surprises.

Joining Encore! as a special guest will be violinist, Garth Williams performing his own beautiful arrangements of Christmas carols accompanied by his wife, Ruth on the piano. In addition, the audience will be treated to a performance of snippets from the upcoming production of the "Pirates of Penzance" by SIMTS. The representative troupe from this local production will feature some of the operetta's main characters. Encore! is proud to acknowledge that the leading soprano, is none other than Hanna Seinen, their 2014/15 mentorship student!
