Cedar Community Hall is celebrating! New paint, new paving, new sign, and new board members--it's a new era for this heritage building.
=0D=0A=The focus is on Cedar and area, with food and entertainment donated by the community.
=0D=0A=Dinner will be catered by the Coco Café, with as much local produce as possible: an all-beef shepherd's pie (with option of vegetarian lasagna), roasted root vegetables, focaccia bread, salads, and homemade pies with ice cream for dessert.
=0D=0A=Four different sets of musicians will provide background music, including the skirl of the pipes to greet you, toe-tapping fiddle and choral music before and after the meal, and some mellow jazz to round out the evening.
=0D=0A=Cedar and area artisans and businesses have joined the farmers in donating to the dinner. Do a little early Christmas shopping at our silent auction.
=0D=0A=To top off the meal, the hall is holding its first annual Patchwork of Pies event. Join in the fun and bake a fruit pie to be served at the harvest dinner later in the day. Fruit pies only, please (local fruit, if you can), any kind of crust, tin-foil pie plate. For more fun, try entering as neighbors (within 2 km of each other). Bring your pie to the hall between 1 and 3 on Saturday, Nov. 16th. Who knows, you might win the Pie-of-the-World award!
